Module Specific Setup

There are some setup tasks that are required for specific optional modules but not for the rest of the system.  This topic will point you towards the specific setup tasks you may need to complete for specific optional modules.

 

Each Module has specific setup tasks - it is important that you complete these tasks to get the best out of Mobileezy.

 

Runlist Module - Setting up the Runlists        Runlist Module - Setting up the Runlists

If you are using Mobileezy Small Business, Mobileezy Small Business with Stock or Mobileezy Enterprise with the Runlist Module and will be using it to manage sales rep or customer runlists you will need to review the following topics:

Recurring Schedules: for creation of individual customer recurring schedules see scheduling customer runs and for scheduling of whole of territory schedules see Scheduling Territory Routes.
Simple Fortnightly Runs: for creation of simple recurring fortnightly schedules see basic routing
Non schedule days: for setup of non-activity days see Scheduling Non-Activity Days.
Customer Visit Order: For setting up the order of customers on the run see Setting the Customer Order

Note: Before setting up runlists you will need to have arranged your customers into territories.

Stock Module - Setup Tasks        Stock Module - Setup Tasks

If you are using the Mobileezy Small Business with Stock or Mobileezy Enterprise with the Stock Module, you will need to review the following topics to complete these setup tasks:

Creating Locations: Create the locations that you plan to track stock in by reviewing Stock Locations (creating new stock locations).
Configure the Stock Mode: There are different options available for stock configuration, read configuring the stock module.
Profile Settings: Adjust user profiles and add the required stock transaction types
Stock Takes:  Entering the initial stock balances using a stocktake

Item Properties Module - Creating Item Properties        Item Properties Module - Creating Item Properties

If you are using Mobileezy Small Business, Mobileezy Small Business with Stock or Mobileezy Enterprise with theItem Properties Module, and plan to track additional extra information about your products whilst recording sales, you will need to review the following topics to complete the setup tasks:

Create Properties: review Setting Up Item Properties (creating item properties)  to learn about creating the custom properties.
Assign Properties to Items: read Setting Up Item Properties (assigning properties to items) to learn how to assign the custom properties to your items.

Advanced Barcoding & UOM Module - Setup Tasks        Advanced Barcoding & UOM Module - Setup Tasks

If you are using Mobileezy Enterprise with the Advanced Barcoding & UOM Module you will need to complete the following setup tasks:

Configure Barcodes: read Working with Barcodes to learn about setting up simple barcoding, and Advanced Barcoding to learn about entering additional barcodes for your products.
Configure Units of Measure: If you use random weights when selling your items, read Random Weights to help you with the setup.

Picking Module - Configuration and workflow        Picking Module - Configuration and workflow

If you are using the Mobileezy Small Business with Stock or Mobileezy Enterprise with the Picking Module and plan to use the picking module in either the warehouse or directly from a van, you will need to configure some settings and also know which method of picking you will use.

Warehouse Picking: for configuration and workflow information on the warehouse picking mode of operation, read Warehouse Picking

Container Tracking Module - Configuring Containers        Container Tracking Module - Setup

If you are using Mobileezy Enterprise with the Container Tracking Module and want to keep track of containers left at your customer sites, you will need to configure Mobileezy accordingly.

Create Items: Both the container item and its contents must be setup as separate items in your Accounting System
Setup Container Management: Container and content items must be associated and profile setting configured, to learn how read Setting up Container Tracking.
Enter Opening Balances:  The opening balance of containers at customer locations must be entered into Mobileezy, to do this read the subtopic 'Entering customers' opening container balance' in Container Returns on the Handheld and Container Returns in DOES.

Purchasing Module - Setup        Purchasing Module - Setup

If you are using Mobileezy Enterprise with the Purchasing Module and will be using Mobileezy to create purchase orders, there are a couple of simple configuration settings that will need to set.  These are:

System Settings:   You will need to define the default purchase tax code and default purchase customer, read Purchasing Setup (Configuring System Settings) to find out how.
Profile Settings:  The user profile will need to be set to enable purchasing and the purchase order sales type, read Purchasing Setup (Configuring Profile Settings) to find out how.

Consignment Module - Setup        Consignment Module - Setup

If you are using Mobileezy Enterprise with the Consignment Module and plan to use Mobileezy to create consignment invoices and keep track of goods on consignment, you will need to complete the following setup tasks:

Consignment Mode: Determine the consignment mode you will be using by reviewing the Standard Consignment (When to Use Standard Consignment Mode) and Vending Consignment (When to Use Vending Consignment Mode)
Standard Consignment: System and profile settings will need to be configured as well as setting up the opening balances of stock at customer locations.  Read Standard Consignment (Configuring System and Profile Settings) and (Entering Opening Balances)
Vending Consignment:  System and profile settings will need to be configured; Jobs and Vending Locations will need to be setup in your Accounting System; and opening balances of stock assigned to the vending locations.  To find out how, read Vending Consignment (Configuring System and Profile Settings), (MYOB Configuration) and (Vending Machine Setup).
