Sales templates can be created and edited in Desktop Order Entry System from the Templates tab. This may be a faster way of managing customer templates than using the Mobileezy Handheld App. This topic of the user guide describes how to create and edit templates and how to create a global template for all customers.
Sales templates can be used to speed up the sales process and ensure that items usually purchased by a customer are not missed.
Creating a New Template
To create a new sales template from Desktop Order Entry System follow these steps:
|1.||Open Desktop Order Entry System and login with your user name|
|2.||Click on the Templates tab in the upper menu|
|3.||Click on the New Template button|

|4.||Select the Customer from the drop down list|
|5.||Select the Sales Type (invoice, order or quote) from the sales type selection (top right). Any sales created from the template will automatically be created with this sales type.|
|6.||Leave the Status as Template|
|7.||Enter all the line items required in the template by either selecting the item code or a description and enter a quantity for the item. |
Note: Quantities stored in templates may be affected by the profile settings listed below.
|8.||Enter any notes against the line items if required. These notes will be transposed to any transactions created from the template and will print on the printed invoice.|
|9.||Enter any transaction comments. These comments will also be transposed to any transactions created from the template and will print in the comment field of printed invoices..|
|10.||Press the Save button.`|

Editing an existing template
Sales templates can be edited in Desktop Order Entry System regardless of whether they were created on the handheld or in Desktop Order Entry System. To edit a template:
|1.||Open Desktop Order Entry System and select the Templates tab |
|2.||The full list of templates will be displayed.|
|3.||Locate the required template and click on the to open for editing.|
|4.||Edit the template as required and press the save button.|
Creating a Global Template
A global template is a universal template that will be assigned to all customers - it is created and edited in the Desktop Order Entry System. To create the global template:
|3.||Open Desktop Order Entry System and select the Templates tab |
|4.||Click on the Global button|
|5.||Create the template as normal in the same manner as you would create an individual customer template. The template will be created using a default customer - Customer Default_Card (Inactive)|
|6.||When complete, press the save button and then synchronise the handheld devices to populate the template to the handhelds.|
Note: If you want customers to have more than one template (ie. the global template plus another) you must also set the system setting Enable Multiple Templates per Customer to be True.
Naming the Template
Templates can be named on both Desktop Order Entry System and the Mobileezy Handheld App by entering a short description for the template in the instruction field. This name will be visible when creating a sale from the template by making it much easier to identify - especially when there are multiple templates available for each customer.

By default, the instruction field is not visible in Desktop Order Entry System, this is controlled by the following profile setting:
Show Carton Quantity and Instruction fields
Controls whether the instruction and carton quantity fields are visible in Desktop Order Entry System. (Defaults to No)
