A standard Desktop Order Entry System installation has 4 options available in the upper menu bar; Transactions, Templates, Customer Pricing and Item Pricing.  There will be an additional tab for Stock if you also have access to the Stock Module. This topic aims to describe basic navigation through the Desktop Order Entry System.

Basic Navigation        Basic Navigation

1.To navigate through the tabs, click on the name of the tab in the upper menu.

2.To edit an existing transaction click on the Left Open Arrow for the transaction line from either the Transactions, Templates or Stock tabs.
3.To print a transaction click on the Open Report Icon for the transaction line  from either the Transactions, Templates or Stock tabs.
4.To close, click on the Close button from the Transaction tab.
5.To view customer information click on the Open Report Iconnext to the customer name on either the Customer Pricing or Item Pricing tabs.

Logging On        Logging On

To logon to Desktop Order Entry System:

1.Double click on the desktop icon
2.Select the user from the login window
3.Press the login button.

Note: There is no password required for logging on.  The list of users able to login is set by desktop users created in the Desktop Administrator.

The Transactions Tab        Transactions Tab

The transactions tab is the first tab in the menu and is where sales transaction management is completed.  In this tab you are able to:

View, print and edit transactions completed by handheld users
Refresh the transaction list
Close the application

Templates Tab        Templates Tab

The templates tab is the second tab in the menu from where transaction template management is completed.  The functions available in this section are:

Creation of new templates
Editing of templates created on the handheld or Desktop Order Entry System
Creation of the Global Template
Printing Templates

Stock Tab        Stock Tab

The stock tab becomes available with the Stock Module licence.  In this tab, the available functions are:

Create new stock activities
Print stock transactions
Edit stock transactions
Refresh the transaction list
Close the application

Customer Pricing        Customer Pricing

The customer pricing tab shows customer specific pricing for each of the items in your item list.  This is the same view as from the Desktop Administrator, pricing and customers tab, with the exception that the customer price level can not be edited from this tab.

The customer pricing can be viewed at any time during the creation of a transaction by simply clicking on the menu item and then switching back to the in progress transaction.

Item Pricing        Item Pricing

The item pricing tab shows item specific pricing for each of the customers in your list.  This is the same view as from the Desktop Administrator, pricing and items tab. This item pricing can be reviewed at any time during the creation of a transaction by simply clicking on the menu item and then switching back to the in progress transaction.
